About Yale School of Medicine Collection
As part of the commemoration of the Bicentennial of the Yale School of Medicine in 2010, the Historical Library began digitizing photographs of Yale medical classes, deans, departmental chairs and other faculty, departmental photographs, and buildings and other facilities. Most of the photographs of Yale medical classes have been digitized. We do not have every class, nor do we have names of graduates for some photographs, but we regularly receive and scan new images into the collection.
For each of the images, the Medical Library also has a large (tiff) image that may be used for print publications. While Yale owns copyright of some of these images, others may still be under copyright to the creators of their heirs. Please request if you wish to use the images for purposes other than presentations.
For questions, please contact Melissa Grafe, John R. Bumstead Librarian for Medical History at firstname.lastname@example.org.
